About Our Story

BHARATHIYA MANAVA VIKASANA SEVASANGH is a voluntary organization dedicated to socio – economic and cultural development of the marginalized and weaker section of the society. Which was founded in 2008 BMVS has its headquarters in Kottampalli Neyyattinkara taluk of Trivandrum District, Kerala State, South India, mainly operates in Trivandrum District. Aims to stimulate the potential of the Daliths, women and children to change their own lives through a sustainable, integrated people centered development strategy. In this regard, Vikas facilitates various viable development programs amongst the communities it serves.

Bharathiya manava vikasana seva sangham was founded by Mr. O. V. Sanal Kumar along with 9 likeminded persons. The idea was alleviating unemployment, enhance socio – economic and cultural empowerment among the Dalith and disadvantaged. The idea was conceived during his tenure of Nehru Memorial Youth Club 1998 – 1999 as a sport committee convener on occasion of keralolsavam, he found that there was acute discrimination, disparties, exclusion and denial of opportunity in the society. In order to address there issues and empowering the Dalith in socially, economically and culturally, he worked for 1 year as unregistered form. Later he registered Bharathiya Manava Vikasana Seva Sangham on 08.12.2008. in the beginning job creating, supplementary education and cultural development are main focus of the organization.


Transforming quality of life, creating decent workforce in the socially and economically marginalized through welfare and development activities with community participation.


Facilitating the weaker section to take up the issues bothering them and collectively achieve better quality of life, as a society.


Helping the marginalized poor people to acquire diversified employable skills, occupation and thus promoting economic status.

Strategic Priorities and Target Groups

Organizing the youth under umbrella of sports club to improve the skill and efficiency through tournament. Facilitating the communities to access suitable employable skill training and establishing micro and small enterprises through bank credit on poverty reduction process. Awareness education on livelihood resource conservation, right based issues, legal aid and education, preventive action for contagious and chronic diseases, action to social behavioural changes, conservation and management of natural resources, emergency relief and rehabitation, promotion of appropriate eco-friendly technology, promotion of traditional Indian medical systems and health care and support, Providing legal aid and support to the deprived community. Education support and guidance to downtrodden children and mainstreaming the school through the later entry education and vocational approach.
